In 2006 Plan B, aka Ben Drew, was a no-nonsense kid from London's Forest Gate streets, spitting seething verses about sex,drugs and other non-attractive aspects of life. You'd be forgiven for not hearing the sound of Capital FM rushing to add his ouevre to their playlists. All that changed after a chart-friendly reinvention, in which Drew sang soppy soul ballads with more than an eye on the career trajectory of Amy Winehouse.
Image wise, the Plan B has moved from looking like that kid who stole your bike tyres last weekend to a smooth, respectable soulboy. He did this through a series of tactical masterstrokes that involved buying a new suit and, er, that's it.
